Originally Hallwylska Stockholm belonged to Count Walther and his wife Countess Wilhelmina. Designed by the famous Swedish architect Isak Gustaf Clason, Hallwyl House was to accommodate the Count’s office and the Countess’ art collection. However, in 1920 the House was donated to the Swedish Government on the condition that it would remain unchanged.
The building is a masterpiece and draws inspiration from Renaissance Venice as well as Medieval blueprints. Now turned into a museum, it is one of Stockholm city’s astounding attractions!
