Het Pomphuis Antwerp was a pump-house used to empty dry-docks, originally built in 1918-20. Since then, the building is protected by Architectural Heritage. The building boasts neoclassical and art nouveau features.
Additionally, the staircases around the walls lead to the second floor where visitors can feast upon the huge round-arch windows. Each window offers a view of the outside giving the impression of a round dome and open space. You can still see the old pumping machinery in the basement.
